Gorgeous late 19thC/early 20thC Italian hallmarked "Made in Italy, F Coppini, .800" silver purse handle-turned-necklace on faceted blue flash labradorite. This is one half of 2 sides from the original hinged set.
This is a stunning, intricate piece, with an all-over pierced/cut out design of "hidden" details such as flowers, birds, and berries amongst the flourishes, plus a central panel showing a lively pub scene of men drinking, possibly playing cards/games, one playing a flute, and one smoking a pipe! Lastly, an artichoke snap closure half and an off-set wreath ring with blue flash labradorite drop (which was once the chain holder for this side of the original set), help finish the design of this inverted handle that has become a one-of-a-kind statement piece.
1" wide x 5.5" at the widest points.
Sterling clasp and extender.
