Two identical halves of a c1900 hallmarked sterling English nurse’s buckle are now beautiful reimagined as focal pieces to these lovely necklaces. Traditionally given as gifts to nursing school graduates (and still done), these buckles were worn as part of the uniform.
Approx 2”x2”, each has a bright patina and features delicate swirl cut outs. A subtle contemporary feel belies their 120+ year age. Suspended on silvery faceted abalone chains, with sterling chain extenders to adjust length.
